Louie Montoya is a designer, artist, futurist and educator.

Currently, he co-leads Educational Future(s) work at the Stanford d.school and is the lead designer and lecturer of Design 1, an introductory design course in the undergraduate program.

In his current role at Stanford, Louie teaches d.school courses exploring the intersection of design thinking, ethics, systems, and education.

His training as a cultural anthropologist, his work in social justice spaces, and his own creative practice offer a  unique skill set to support educators, students, and organizational leaders to leverage their creativity to build a more equitable, community-centered world.

He has done this in school districts, schools, and organizations across the globe. Louie has given keynote talks and run experiential workshops at notable events such as, the Smithsonian, SXSW, ISTE, and Deeper Learning.

His most recent work focuses on community building, creating pathways for collective care, and growing communities of practice centered around justice and equity.
